Season-to-date national snowfall is now the most in 5 years, 11th most in 30 years, 7.6% above average and 23% more than last year. The snow hole continues from the Central NJ to Boston coastal areas.

This week (25 Feb - 3 Mar)looks to trend the coldest in 4 years, 6th coldest in 30 years for the U.S. overall, a bit drier than last year but still 6th wettest of the past 30 years and snowiest in 11 years nationally.

Next week (4-10 Mar) shows signs of the Polar Vortex dipping into Southeast Canada with widespread cold across most of the U.S. This would be the coldest start to March in over 30 years for the U.S. overall with the snowiest conditions in 20 years. The good news with a Polar Vortex is they tend to pull all the cold air out as they lift out so this bodes well for a good Spring surge in middle March.

Spring is just 23 days away for those counting down.
